In most e-commerce sites, the specific items are not indexed by search engines, and are not directly searchable. Using Unique-Boutiques "Searchable Option", each item page can be found by all major search engines, including Google. This is not possible with any other comparably priced ecommerce shop that we are aware of.

If you have unique products that others might search specifically for, then consider the Searchable Option. For example, a searcher might be looking for an antique roll-top desk. If you offer an antique roll-top desk, and have chosen the searchable option, your Item Page may appear very high on the search engine results list, and a searcher might be brought directly to your Item Page.

Without the Searchable Option, only your home page will be indexed by the search engines. Your home page will be much more general than each of your specific Item Pages, and your search engine score may be much lower.

If your entire shop very focussed, you might not need the searchable option. For example, if your shop is dedicated to making holiday wreaths, your home page might be specialized enough that it will receive a reasonable search engine score. Your individual item pages might not be much more specialized than your home page.

Search engines reward specialized, focussed pages with much higher scores than generalized multipurpose pages. Most Unique-Boutiqe shops will benefit greatly from the Searchable Option.
